I started these linoleum cut flowers in 2020, while taking long walks and photographing flowers of the first spring of the pandemic. I hand printed hundreds of them in my basement…and then they sat in my flat file drawers for a few years before I finally figured out what to do with them.

These little delights are now 3-dimensional pieces, made of linoleum cut prints adhered to clear acrylic. I use a laser cutter to cut a clear piece of acrylic to match the flower. I then use a thin sheet of archival adhesive to glue the print to the acrylic. I brush on two thin layers of matte medium to protect the print. The shadows on the wall are cast by the acrylic that sits just away from the wall. These are lightweight and generally stick well to walls using velcro tabs or strips.
